TRUE NORTH PROJECT

Everything changes for students as they approach their teenage years. These formative milestones can be overwhelming for both young people and their parents. The True North Project jump-starts the conversation and helps students develop foundational relationships and life skills. Using the nation’s leading relationship education curriculum, our program ensures a safe, comfortable, inclusive environment for all students regardless of disability, socioeconomic status, religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, family structure, or cultural background.

The curriculum (Real Essentials) incorporates a positive youth development approach which helps students to build healthy life skills and enhance protective factors that mitigate the impact of past and future negative factors, empowers them to make healthy decisions, and provides tools and resources to prevent risky behaviors. By increasing the number of assets a child has, they will become more resilient and less likely to be involved in high risk behaviors that deter future success.

The True North Project works directly with Middle & High schools empowering students to engage in healthy relationships and positive choices in order to succeed in and out the classroom. By helping at risk youth make better choices today, we are building stronger, healthier, and more economically stable families and communities tomorrow.

"This class was fun and informative. I liked that I learned about things I need in the future. I found out how to make more thoughtful decisions and what a healthy marriage is built on."

– William M. Raines High School Student 2022

“I liked this class because it was very engaging. They taught us how to solve real life problems that people actually go through.”

– Jean Ribault High School Student 2022
